The fantasy stock market for NBA & NFL players
Start with $10,000 P&P Cash. Buy shares in real players. Prices move on every game based on how they perform vs. expectations. Climb the leaderboard, win real prizes.
What is PNPIndex?
PNPIndex (Player & Performance 500) is a fantasy stock market focused on the NBA & NFL. Each active playoff / in-season player has a stock price that rises and falls based on their real-game performance relative to expectations.
You start with $10,000 P&P Cash and can buy shares in any tradeable player. When they outperform expectations, their price climbs. When they underperform, it drops. Your goal is to build the most valuable portfolio.
Only active players can be traded. Once a team is eliminated, their players' stocks are locked — no buying or selling.
Starting Cash & Player Tiers
Every trader starts with $10,000 P&P Cash. Prices are organized into five tiers:
| Tier | Price Range | Player Type |
|---|---|---|
| T1 | $50 – $90 | Rotation players — solid contributors, lower upside |
| T2 | $90 – $140 | Quality starters — consistent producers |
| T3 | $140 – $200 | All-Stars — elite performers |
| T4 | $200 – $300 | Superstars — franchise cornerstones |
| T5 | $200+ | All-NBA dynamic tier — top-tier, variable ceilings |
Performance Index Formula
After each game, every player receives a Performance Index (PI) score from their box score. It's compared to their expected PI to determine price movement.
Price Movement Mechanics
- ▸ ±15% daily cap — a single game can move a stock by at most 15% in either direction.
- ▸ 1.1× playoff multiplier — playoff performance impacts are amplified by 10%.
- ▸ Hot streak bonus — 3+ consecutive above-expectation games earn a hot streak indicator and slight additional multiplier.
Trading Rules
- ▸ NBA · 7-day minimum hold — after buying, hold at least 7 days before selling (games are near-daily).
- ▸ NFL · 2-game minimum hold (~14 days) — NFL teams play once a week, so trades lock for two game weeks.
- ▸ In-season trading only — locked players cannot be bought or sold.
- ▸ Elimination lock — when a team is eliminated, all their players freeze.
- ▸ No shorting or leverage — you can only buy shares you can afford.
Live Game Behavior
When a playoff game is in progress, prices tick approximately every 2 minutes based on the live box score.
- ▸ Active-game players show a pulsing LIVE badge.
- ▸ Live ticks use a partial-game PI (accumulates quarter by quarter).
- ▸ When the game ends, a final price update lands from the official box score.
- ▸ The live-scores banner shows all currently active games with real-time scores.
Injury & Elimination Rules
- ▸ Injured players — stocks stay tradeable with an injury indicator. Missed games mean no PI update; the price holds until return.
- ▸ Team eliminated — all their players lock immediately at the elimination price.
- ▸ Not in playoffs — players whose teams missed the playoffs show a lock badge and cannot be traded, but historical data remains viewable.
